| Speaking
of those spiders here is pretty much the best close up I was willing to
get. This guy was the size of my hand although I wasn't gonna get my
hand to near to double check that.
|

| This is called a "walking tree" for obvious reasons, these were tall & huge around. Very cool.
|

| Here
is Vero & I at a tour called "7 bridges" or something like
that. Funny thing was it was me the 1 legged guy who liked it better
than Vero.
|

| This was one of the views from the various bridges on the hike. Very cool but even better if you go there yourself.
|

| This
little fella watched us hike by. Vero wanted to reach out and pick him
up but I kept thinking about the bright colors and poisonous frogs.
|

| And
this is my birthday party....of course later I was told that the
volcano erupts everyday but as you can see from the clouds it is not
always visible. So I still got something cool for my birthday. At
night it was even better looking because you could see the lava embers
rolling down the mountain.
|

| Vero
and I went on a little 10 mile hike on our own. We saw a hand drawn map
at the place we were staying and it mentioned a waterfall. Now as you
can guess it didn't mention the way up & down would be nearly
straight down & up. To the trails credit there were steps but
they were old & muddy. It was the first time I was worried as an
amputee. Then Vero mentioned that she was freaked out as a normal
person.
|

| At
the half way point of our hike just when I was thinking that to
die in the costa rican jungle wouldn't be such a bad idea we found the
waterfall.
|

| It
is amazing how quickly you can get over the pain & hardship of a
tough hike when you get a view like this. The volcano was nice to look
at also :)
